Meet The Investigator
Internet investigation highlights
Bob’s Internet investigations career precedes Google.
In the mid-90s, he introduced some of the first online cases and email intercepts at the Drug Enforcement Administration targeting Internet pharmacies and counterfeit pharmaceuticals. He traveled extensively in India and Mexico working with government officials to shut down pharmaceutical plants that supplied these online pharmacies and over 90% of the U.S. illicit market. He also served on clandestine drug lab and parcel interdiction teams.
In 2008, he joined the Motion Picture Association of America where he trained and developed Internet investigations teams around the globe. He managed a LATAM program and led cutting edge cases that literally changed the Internet landscape.
Bob thrives on problem solving.
He is often tasked to identify website owners and explain how the websites operate. He enjoys preparing intelligence landscapes that identify threats within a region with strategies to address them.
Clients frequently task Bob to conduct these types of cases:
Advertising / Payment processing
Affiliate marketing / fraud
Bittorrent / Cyberlockers / Live stream
Counterfeits / Piracy
E-commerce / B2B
IP addresses / Rogue hosting networks
Mobile & Desktop apps
Bob enjoys training and is a regular speaker on investigative techniques and enforcement strategies at conferences like the Hi-Tech Crime Investigator Association and Anti-Piracy Summits. He received his training through the FBI/DEA Academy, the FBI Regional Computer Forensic Lab, and experts in specialties that range from HTML to DNS.
He pays it forward by providing free training and search tools to law enforcement via the NetBootCamp website.
